General:
The IEEE Global Semiconductors is an Ad Hoc of the IEEE Future Directions Committee.
Scope:
The mission of the IEEE Global Semiconductors Ad Hoc focuses on supporting and advancing major semiconductor initiatives, including the CHIPS Act and other global programs.
- For IEEE members, the team works to inform, engage and support its members regarding these initiatives.
- For external organizations, the team provides a portal to connect with IEEE’s broad global membership through a vast network of industry, academia, labs and more.
- All IEEE OUs have been invited to send representatives who will be active members of the Ad Hoc.
Functions:
The IEEE Global Semiconductors Committee shall:
- Inform – Provide a portal to inform users on the latest information and events related to global semiconductor initiatives.
- Engage – Provide articles, speakers and events to support related initiatives: Standards, levels of Initiatives (e.g. Federal and State) and workforce development (e.g. DE&I, Sustaining Women in Technology)
- Support – Identify those members who are active in ongoing initiatives.
